Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey tonight on Showtime! First time i’ve ever been more interested in the ladies then the rest of the card. Besides being pretty these two are nasty in the cage. Their looks might get the casual fans to watch but their skills are what keeps them watching. I’m interested to see if Ronda can back up all the trash talk or will Tate be too much too soon for the rising star… Here are my quick picks for tonight.
Scott Smith vs. Lumumba Sayers
Scott Smith’s chin will be tested in this one. Will he get his shot in before? I’m thinking no. Sayers via KO round 1.
Jacare Souza vs. Bristol Marunde
Last minute replacement Bristol Marunde should be leaving early as well. Jacare will be back in the W column after a quick submission. Souza via Submission round 1.
Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki
I’m guessing this is like batting practice for Paul Daley. You need a guy to fight the winner of Woodley and Marquardt and who else is there? Daley via KO round 1.
Josh Thompson vs. KJ Noons
Just basing this off the fact that KJ has looked good in his last outing and Thompson hasn’t fought in awhile, I’ll go with Noons. I think Noons seemed to put it all together in his last fight and think Thompson will have cage rust. Noons by Decision.
Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey
As much as I want to pick Miesha here based on experience and skills something in my gut keeps me thinking Rousey will win. I don’t know if its hype, But she’s made me a believer just listening to her for the past couple months. Based on the little amount of fighting i’ve seen she looks dominant. Is she fighting the top talent though? I’m not sure. She has dominated everyone she’s fought though so it’s hard not to believe her. If she can do to Tate what she’s done to everyone else I think she can be a legit threat to a returning Cyborg. I see Ronda taking some shots but getting Tate to the ground. I think Ronda will be too big and too strong for Tate. Ronda via Armbar? round 2. (I’m hoping for a draw. Let’s do it all over again! Haha)
